History of South America
is rather ancient and there are disputes whether it was the first land that inhabitants settled, but there is little evidence of it. First people are believed to reach the continent by crossing the Bering Strait, but some archeologists suppose that it was Pre-Siberian aborigines who inhabited the territory of South America and grew various agricultural grains including potatoes and beans. They also did some fishing due to living at the Amazon river banks or on the coast. Such animals were domesticated there as llamas, alpacas, etc. Travel South America to touch the amazing creatures!

Speaking of pre-Columbian civilizations it should be noted that there were a great many of them. In today's Colombia was Muisca civilization (mainly farmers and goldsmiths). Modern Peru is known for Norte Chico, its key feature is pyramids thought to be a bright example of ancient architecture in South America similar to those of Egypt. There was also Valdivia in Ecuador, Moche in Peru and lots of others. But the most legendary is Inca civilization famous for exact stone buildings and terrace agriculture. Travel South America is a worthy experience because here you will see the evidence of ancient people great development and brilliant ideas.

A temperate way of life would have continued in the continent but for the Portuguese and the Spanish who moored to the coast of South America in the 15th century. They brought a lot of the new to the continent but as well a great many of various diseases to which locals had no immune systems, as a result slaves from Africa were taken here to substitute for dead locals. Christianity was propagated and all the pieces of art in South America were thought to be heathen statues and pictures and were almost destroyed.

Travel South America to see this wonderful but militant land that was vigorously defended from the colonists and achieved independence of most countries in the 19th century, only Guyana and Suriname became independent in the 20th century. But there are some countries still remaining European colonies.

History of South America is great and good future promising  due to intentions of its countries to create a EU-style structure though some countries tend to be left-wing.
